My Very Own Prop Closet + Organizing

Well friends, I am moving up in the world. The photo above used to be my prop closet (that I carry around on my shoulder) for years! But now, I have my very own closet where I teach 3 days a week. That means I can take my props to my closet and remove them from my tiny apartment! They didn’t bother me here, but they do take up a lot of space. Plus looking at them always triggered a new idea. Shocking, I know. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Today I sorted, cleaned and organized all of my props. I feel like this year will be a big success, just because I feel more organized and prepared! Yippie!

Now my closet looks a bit more like this! Isn’t it a beauty?

I wonder how many more props I can fit in there? It’s official, I have a prop problem! ๐Ÿ™‚

Do you have a prop closet of your own? Did you re-organize it? Do you still lug your props around? Don’t worry, I will still have some of that to do, but not nearly as much. I would love to hear about all of your prop places and spaces!

p.s. I took some organizing tips from here to get on track. So helpful!

  1. I bought a Ford Transit Connect (looks like a catering rig or something for a plumber)! My husband helped me to trick it out so I have a hammock of sorts from the ceiling to hold my hully-hoops! Everything I own for class is in it instead of in the dining room! I love it! I also got a signage friend to decal it so I can’t go anywhere without being known. A prop closet is not an option for this nomadic teacher! You are one lucky duck!

Zan, that sounds awesome! I have carried my stuff for years, and I still have to lug it on the subway 2x a week. But this is helpful and will hopefully keep a little bit of my sanity. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Anyway, what you have sounds cooler than a prop closet, for sure!

Anne, I write about props all the time! Search my site a bit! I will be adding new ones into the mix very soon! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. You must look like a bag lady! I can’t imagine carting my stuff on a subway. You are something else!

haha! It’s quite the scene. But in NYC no one really notices, there are much stranger things! ๐Ÿ™‚
