This month’s Dance Advantage Circle Time topic is The (Dance) Things I Love. I have been thinking about what to write in this post all month! I kept asking my husband, I need to think about some dance things that I love. He was like “ummm, dance is your life, you surely can think of something.” 🙂 Sooo here it is…
I love…
When my littles say things like “Miss Maria, you don’t have birthdays- you’re a grown-up” or “Did you know there is a creative dance teacher monster?” They are so curious and I love spending time with them.
A new found love is a foam roller. I love the way it makes space in my body and melts my muscles. Is this a dance thing? 🙂
I love children’s dance picture books. If you could see my apartment book case right now, it’s all picture books!
I love when I am sitting on the subway tired and hungry and a group of high school students come through to share their dancing. They are so good and what better way to educate people about dance? Pop-up audience!
I love attending a dance performances with elementary students. Such magic in the air and the screams when the lights go down is enough to make grin ear to ear.
I love props. HA! I know, surprise, surprise. I believe props are a great teaching tool and adds a little fun and laughter to dance class.
Last but not least, I love writing a dance blog! I don’t think I could ever stop writing this blog, it’s just a part of my life now and I love, love, love it.
What dance things do you love? Do we share any of the same loves? I would love to hear!
