The Class That Started It All

The Dance Buzz is starting a blogging challenge and I thought I would join in today! The challenge? Post a personal dance first. I didn’t have to think to hard to come up with this one because I think about it ALL THE TIME!  The picture above is the end of the semester showing of my very first creative ballet class in NYC!

I think back to this class and just want to give them each a big squeeze. These little 2 year olds gave me my big break.  I look at the picture and have so many memories of fun and learning. From one class to now 25 classes (!) I have grown so much and so have they! 🙂 I am so grateful to these dancers and parents and my boss at the time for allowing me to start the class and keep it going!

Do you remember the first class you ever taught or the class that started it all? I would love to hear about it! Oh, and if you want to join in on the blog challenge, check out the details here.

p.s. Happy New Year!
p.p.s did you vote in the top blog competition? Look for Maria’s Movers in two categories. Wednesday at 12 noon closes the polls, so vote now!  🙂

  1. Oi! Do I ever! When I was 17 I was asked to take over for my studio’s Creative Movement program for 3 weeks while the teacher was out of town. All I truly remember is a bunch of unruly 3-year-olds running circles around me. Good luck on the competition, Maria!
