Read It. Move It. Share It. is a collaboration with Kerry from Picture Books and Pirouettes. Once a month Kerry recommends a book for me to use in my creative movement classes. Then I write a post on what I did with the book and how I used it with my students in hopes of giving you some new ideas to use in your classes! Here is the October book. Enjoy!
Happy Halloween Friends! Are you celebrating at your studio tonight? I would love to hear everything you are doing! Last week in class I did If You’re A Monster And You Know It book with my 2 year old students. It’s very clever and super duper fun. I didn’t do much with it other than read, sing, and dance the book. But I figure you can put it in your pile of halloween ideas for next year, right? Although, I think it could be used at anytime of the year, it’s just that great.
I also downloaded this song that goes with the book. The song is just perfect for little ones, not to slow or to fast, and absolutely sounds better than my voice, I’m sure. 😉
My favorite part in the book/song is when it says…”If you’re a monster and you know it wiggle your warts.” Try to figure out that one using movement! ha!

What did you dress up like for Halloween? What was the most popular among your students? I would love to hear!
