Does anyone have any suggestions for teaching teens the dance etiquette in the classroom. I have a group of great students, but they have not been studying all their life. They argue a lot of about the choreography and question their teachers in inappropriate ways. Any thoughts? maria

Maria, My advice is to start with the basics. Have teachers go over dance room etiquette and stick to it. Even if you have to write it down and hang it on the wall and refer to it. Have consequences if they don’t follow the rules. They need to know you are serious about teaching them dance and the choreography. It’s a place to have fun, yes, but it is also a place to learn. Respecting classmates and teachers is what you are teaching, not just dance. Hope that helps. Can anyone else add on to these ideas?
