The Snowy Day Dance

Read It. Move It. Share It. is a collaboration with Kerry from Picture Books and Pirouettes. Once a month Kerry recommends a book for me to use in my creative movement classes. Then I write a post on what I did with the book and how I used it with my students in hopes of giving you some new ideas to use in your classes! Here is the January book. Enjoy!

2 weekends ago in NYC we got snow for the first time this year! Well, we had some in October (yeah, I know) but I don’t really count that. I woke up on Saturday to teach and surprise, there was snow! I planned to use the book The Snowy Day anyway, but with snow coming down it seemed just perfect. And it was! Read on to see how I used it with my 4′s in creative movement!  Continue reading The Snowy Day Dance

6 Goals To Set For Your Littles: AKA My Hidden Agenda

Setting goals is a huge topic. When I think of my own goals, I think of how many I have accomplished since graduating college. I also think of how many more I want to accomplish. Eeek, makes my head hurt! If you ask my husband, he says I have a new goal every week! He’s right, it is just in my nature to be ambitious. It’s good to have goals, but sometimes I dwell and think about them too much; I’m still working on the balance. Continue reading 6 Goals To Set For Your Littles: AKA My Hidden Agenda

She decided to not make it a big deal and allow him to express himself with whatever he wanted to wear. When I saw this, I thought “wow, how awesome is that?” A brave mom who isn’t allowing the world’s impressions of gender roles affect her son. She is letting him decide for himself. Do you ever tire of singing the same songs? Don’t get me wrong, I love me a good itsy bitsy spider and ABC song.
