I need to tell you about a wonderful CD by Richard Maddock called Music for Movement and Imaginations! I first learned about it on the wonderful blog Dance Advantage. I then connected with Richard and purchased this CD. I love it! All instrumental, the music is beautiful, easy to count and follow along! My favorite are the ‘dance a story songs’. My students are a big fan of the day at the circus song, and we use our imaginations to make our own story to the music! We love the circus! There are also exercises like point and flex where I have my own song, but I can play Richard’s point and flex over top of us singing and it fits perfectly! Amazing, right? I know!
I think Richard did a really great job of putting together music that dance teachers can incorporate right into their classes that is all on one CD! If you are looking for some new and creative music for your classes for the new season, check out Richard’s website here. I know he would love to hear from you!
What about you? Do you have a favorite CD for ballet class? Maybe Music for Movement and Imaginations will be your new favorite!
